The Shop-Floor Test
Five questions that reveal whether a strategy has been translated into something the frontline can actually deliver.
Open the framework
Ask these five questions
- Can a frontline team member explain the customer promise in plain language?
- Can the manager observe the expected behaviour during a normal shift?
- Is the information required to act available at the point of work?
- Does every exception have an owner and a deadline?
- Can leadership see whether the standard changed a customer or commercial outcome?
How to interpret the result
One “no” identifies a vulnerability. Three or more suggest that the strategy is still primarily a head-office intention rather than an operating standard.
